What does this Roadmap look like?

At Body Unity we know one size does not fit all. Your recovery is a journey, and our comprehensive roadmap is designed to guide you every step of the way, using a combination of expert-led treatments.

Phase 1: Diagnosis & Pain Management 

Your journey begins with a thorough assessment by one of our osteopaths via a Body Unity MOT. We use our clinical expertise to accurately diagnose the nature and severity of your tendon injury.
Osteopathy is used to address underlying biomechanical issues, work to restore better movement and mechanics, and relieve and reduce the strain on the injured tendon. Reducing pain and improving function.
Osteopathy is often used in combination with massage therapy to reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and improve blood flow to the affected area, kickstarting the healing process.

Phase 2: Stimulating Healing 

Once initial pain is under control, we transition to focused therapies that stimulate natural tissue repair.

Shockwave therapy delivers targeted energy pulses to accelerate healing by promoting new blood vessel growth and stimulating collagen production in the damaged tendon. It is a highly effective, non-invasive treatment for a variety of tendinopathies. 

Phase 3: Restoring Strength & Function 

With the healing process underway, the focus shifts to restoring strength, mobility, and confidence through our state-of-the-art gym facility.
Rehabilitation exercises, guided by our experts, are progressively introduced. We move from isometric exercises (designed to build muscle endurance) to slow, heavy resistance training (critical for tendon remodelling), and finally to dynamic and sport-specific movements.
Massage and osteopathic support continue during this phase to address any muscular tightness or compensatory patterns that may arise as you increase your activity levels.

Phase 4: Return to Full Activity 

The final phase is about preparing you for a return to your normal life and favourite activities.

Our experts will clear you for a safe return to sport or work, providing a personalised plan to maintain your progress and prevent future injury. We ensure you are equipped with the knowledge and tools to manage your tendon health long-term, allowing you to get back to doing what you love, stronger than before.
